Two Days before the Knesset Plenary goes on Summer Break
It's the End of Democracy as we know it
A vote that codified the Ultra-Orthodox Draft Exemptions into cannon passed its third and final reading in the Knesset. Though the language was somewhat modified, it is now totally cool and blessed by God not only to not serve in the army, but to place those who sit and learn Torah above the lives and contributions of IDF soldiers.
Shas Chair and Convicted Criminal Aryeh Deeri ecstatically proclaimed that his “children and grandchildren will enjoy this.” The Prime Minister shamefully absented himself from the vote.
It makes me want to vomit.
The Prince of Likud, Yair Netanyahu, has had a restraining order issued against him. But it might not be legal anymore, as the plaintiff has changed his full name to Yonatan Hon. “Hon” in Hebrew unironically means wealth or a fortune. His brother Avner also legally changed his name five years ago, in order to enable a real estate purchase in London; he is now known as Avi Segal.
Even Netanyahu’s own children, at least the ones he acknowledges in public, can’t run any faster away from Bibi’s corrupt legacy. It’s every Netanyahu for him/herself.
2. The Minister of Transportation and Netanyahu toady, MK Miri Regev, is looking into ways to prevent Israeli expats from flying into the country and voting in October; presumably to assist her boss, the man who is the reason so many Israelis have relocated.
3. In the Ultra-Orthodox community of Bnei Brak, there are now streets upon which women are forbidden to trod upon. Assuming Netanyahu and his Ultra-Orthodox coalition ghouls remain in power after the October election, the whole country will become Iran, or Gilead. On streets, on busses, in academic programs, and in army units.
Which is, of course, ironic as Iran continues to attempt to wipe Israel off the map.
4. In the continuing fire sale before the Knesset goes on summer break on July 17, they voted 65-51 yesterday (Wednesday) to strip the Attorney General of authority over the government. The bill also grants the ruling coalition control over appointing and/or dismissing the person holding office, should he/she not make themselves subject to the whims of the Prime Minister.
Once again, PM Netanyahu was absent from the plenary discussion and the vote itself.

This week, the credit rating agency, Moody’s once again lowered the growth forecast for Israel’s economy. “Downward pressure on the rating would likely build if geopolitical tensions increased again in a way that pointed to lasting significant negative impact on the economy or the government’s finances…institutions [have] weakened in recent years amid heightened political polarization and tensions between key state institutions.”
Like the army. Like the judicial system. Like the daily degradation of the rights of citizens who do not bow and scrape to the Ultra-Orthodox, especially women and the LGBTQ+ community.
When Trump first ran for President, the infamous “Pussy Tape” was released, in which Trump boasted that he could sexually assault any woman he wanted because he was a celebrity, and celebrities have special rights. At the time, I thought to myself, “What self-respecting woman would cast their vote for this loathsome rapist?” Turns out a bunch did, and they did it again in 2024.
That same kind of despicable people would be more than happy to see Netanyahu reign again.
According to current polls, an Opposition coalition led by Former General Eisenkot would barely hold a 61 vote majority, and it would have to include the ten seats from the Arab parties.
