Harry's Roar Day Three
Hezbollah joins the fray
Last night at 22:30, a ballistic missile impacted Begin South, right behind our street. The air smelled burnt, and the photos of the crater it left on the highway were terrifying.
Channel 12 reported that US President “Art of the Deal” Trump reached out to Iran, basically asking if they had had enough and if they were ready to negotiate and immediate peace treaty. Predictably, they laughed in his face.
Iran let us sleep almost seven hours last night – are we supposed to say thank you? – and at 7:06 AM on Sunday morning, the siren sounded, all of us neighbors arriving to the shelter groggy and in our pajamas.
I swear I thought it was Sunday, and I totally forgot that today is the Fast of Esther, and that tonight we start Purim. When you’re not working and practically living three stories underground, it’s easy to lose that sense of time; kinda like during Corona.
The impact vibrations felt serious, as we read that Hezbollah has now officially joined the war. When we received the all-clear text, one woman said, “Now I must get my cup of coffee.” I declared that nothing would stop me from showering, at some point today.
When we returned upstairs, it took us several minutes to find Fleurken’s hiding place, so 8/10 on the Fleurken Alert Scale.
As I readied myself for a shower, we needed to almost immediately return to the bunker at 7:37 AM. (So, no shower yet.) In theory, and I have checked with my instructor several times, I have Pilates (Reformer) at nine am, but I honestly don’t think it will be a useful workout if missile fire and sirens interrupt the hour.
An Israeli security source revealed to the Arab media, “The operation in Lebanon [against Hezbollah] will be broad and comprehensive, and may include a ground entry.” Great, more of our sons and daughters sacrificing their lives, while others shirk any civic responsibility.
Thus far, areas predominantly Ultra-Orthodox have taken the worst fatalities.
As far as an update regarding the various frein-enemies that Iran has targeted:
In Kuwait, the Ali Al Salem Air Base and Camp Buehring burned after being struck by an Arash-2 Kamikaze militarized drone.
In the UAE, an Emirati oil platform and a French naval base at Port Mina Zayed were targeted and struck by Kamikaze drones.
Oman’s Duqm commercial port was hit by two Kamikaze drones.
Bahrain reports an ongoing large-scale attack, with drones impacting the American base.
Monday 2/3/26 9:00 AM, I drink in the shining sun and the blue sky as I walk to my Pilates (Reformer) class, talking to God and asking nicely, “Please just wait until my exercise class ends.” Four of us attend the session and we are able to exercise without interruption. Although I think I strained a rib while performing a moving plank.
I was not terribly worried about access to a shelter, we had access to one right next store, behind the pizza shop.
After feeding some street cats, I returned home, safely.
Not much on the schedule today, my daughter has a “check-in Zoom” with her teacher and class around lunch time, which I very much appreciate as a parent. These kids will be fighting at the front in less than two years, and I think we will be in excellent hands.
