(Thursday February 20, 2025)
Following the completion of the forensic identification, the IDF representative informed the Bibas family that two of the bodies were indeed the babies Ariel and Kfir, who, according to the evidence, had been brutally murdered in captivity by Hamas in November 2023. Just around the time when they should have come home with the other women and children, but Hamas claimed at the time that they had “lost” them.
As if that wasn’t horrific enough, the assessment process determined that the body labeled as Shiri Bibas was not only NOT the boys’ mother, but not even one of the other hostages on record. It was in fact an anonymous unidentified body.
This is a violation of the utmost severity, and even I, who wish for nothing more than for all of the hostages to be returned to Israel, believe that this must be met with severe consequences. When will their actions since the October 7 Massacre be declared war crimes, when will they face justice?
To get some idea of the sickness in the soulless mind of Hamas, understand this.
On Thursday:
1. Photos from the handoff showed entire Gazan families, hundreds of “innocents” watching the sick ceremony, along with infants and toddlers. They murder our babies and from age zero, they educate their own children how to continue the cycle of hate and genocide. A Gazan woman interviewed on the ground said, “I feel so proud. We took their prisoners out of our house, whom we had guarded throughout the war.” At one point they invited all the young ones who had been brought to the area by the parents to come on stage, where they danced, spit on the coffins and cursed Jews, and behaved as if they were in the ball pit at Gymboree. I have seen the video, and it made me ill.
2. The banner on the stage featured a terrifying Vampire Netanyahu looming over the four hostages – who were, if you recall, dragged into Aza alive and were being returned dead, in boxes – smiling and happy, as if they had spent 503 days on vacation in Paradise. (Side question: Who the Hell is printing up these banners?)
3. When the Red Cross refused initially to participate in their “ceremony,” Hamas threatened to withhold the bodies and halt the entire process. Ultimately, a Red Cross representative (the woman) signed the Hamas documents before the transfer.
4. Israel had a bomb squad check the coffins of the four fallen hostages, to make sure that Hamas did not engineer a booby-trap with explosives.
5. When Hamas handed over the coffins, they gave the Red Cross and the IDF keys that didn’t fit the locks, forcing Israel to hack open the lock and dishonor their own people.
6. When they did get the coffins open, they found Hamas propaganda material on top of the bodies. (I called that one!)
7. On the NOT Shiri Bibas’ coffin, underneath her photo, they had written in Hebrew and Arabic, “Date of Arrest: October 7, 2023”
Then, to further mock Israel and the families of the hostages, Hamas claimed that Israel and the IDF are in fact to blame for the death of the hostages, that they “did everything in their power to protect the hostages and preserve their lives.” They blamed Israel’s “brutal and continuous bombardment [which] prevented them from being able to rescue all the hostages.” Because a terrorist organization that aspires to genocide of all Jews on the planet cares about rescuing the hostages they kidnapped as leverage.
Digging in their predictable heels, Hamas then directly addressed the families of the hostages, blaming Netanyahu and his government, “You were a victim of a leadership that does not care about its children.”
Let’s be very clear: Hamas invaded Israel and brutally murdered 1200 people in one day, beheading babies, burning them alive in their homes, raping and then murdering them. Hamas kidnapped innocent Israeli civilians of all ages. Hamas dragged them into Aza and raped them, tortured them physically and emotionally, starved them and used them as human shields for their leaders. Hamas put the Bibas family and for that matter, the 253 hostages stolen on October 7 in physical jeopardy, knowing that Israel would retaliate for the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.
No matter how dysfunctional and selfish the current Israeli governing coalition, Hamas is absolutely directly responsible for every single death.
The United Nations, finally finding a conscience after 16 months (?!), said that Hamas has violated international law, after the “disgusting spectacle” in Aza with the return of the four bodies. Way too little too late, especially when they made no indications that Hamas would face an international tribunal as a result.
Later on Thursday night, Hamas took responsibility for the premature explosion of three busses, along with two other unexploded bus bombs. The bombs had been meant to explode on Friday morning, potentially killing hundreds of Israelis during the Tel Aviv rush hour. The Minister of Transportation Miri Regev immediately shut down all public transportation (Trains, Light Rail, Busses) and ordered that all of them be inspected for incendiary devices.
Miraculously, no on died because the busses had been sitting in the lot for the night, empty.
Just wondering if Hamas has the manpower and the inventory to simultaneously run the Third Intifada, the October 7 War, and the corrupted hostage prisoner exchange deal.
Should Israel ignore these violations, between the four fallen hostages today, and the six live hostages on Saturday, 802 Palestinian criminals will be released from Israeli prisons, 47 of whom were originally released during the Gilad Shalit deal. So repeater terrorists. Five “Get out of Jail Free” and they get a grenade.
When does Israel draw the line and say that these violations of the agreement are no longer “minor,” when they returned an anonymous female corpse, instead of one of the hostages, the mother of Kfir and Ariel? It gets so complicated that it makes me dizzy: if Israel insists upon consequences, it may derail the rest of Phase I, including the return of the six men on Saturday, and the rest of the hostages still in captivity. If Israel reacts contractually, and says that Hamas doesn’t get their Palestinian prisoners for that particular body, we are agreeing to their sick mathematical equation, and admitting that our people are nothing more than debased and abused product being exchanged for live terrorists.
If Israel looks the other way to preserve the agreement, we again show weakness, and the next time Hamas will behave even more diabolically, because they know they can get away with anything.
Please God, grant Yarden Bibas strength.
